Have you ever felt like you enjoy an activity so much that you completely lose yourself in it? You feel like you float, that you were born for it and that nothing else in the world matters because you can be yourself, you don't feel afraid, you don't fear being judged and in those moments you understand a little about life and why you came into the world. That is what I feel when I dance, I connect my soul with my body and express myself through it.

I am Angelica Rodríguez, Rumba teacher at Fenix dance, born in Colombia and in love with the Dutch culture and its people (especially one), throughout my life I have been linked to music and I think it has given me everything, for 5 years and while I was studying university I was in a Latin dance academy called "Candela" after this I studied salsa and others for 3 years 3 and a half years more playing drums and dancing with an artistic corporation I discovered my love for teaching since I understood a step faster than my classmates and I began to break it down and repeat it until we all understood it. I began to teach and prepare to do it 7 years ago. I developed body exercises that improve the understanding of the movement of the body and now I am happy to teach in Den Bosch and share the happiness that dancing at Fenix Dance brings me.

But what is Fénix Dance?

Wat begon als Fenix Drums, is inmiddels uitgegroeid tot een warme gemeenschap van artiesten die elkaar inspireren en uitdagen. Onder de vlag van Fenix brengen we mensen samen, wakkeren we nieuwe energie aan en nodigen we iedereen uit om de wereld van performance en kunst te beleven zoals nooit tevoren.

It is a space that allows us to discover different rhythms and learn while we dance and exercise in an individual, fun and organic way, it is a safe space, a diverse and respectful community, with the values and energy of two cultures, we practice merengue, salsa, reggaeton, bachata, samba, cumbia and more from a Colombian perspective, we see each other every Tuesday from 7:30 and after 1 hour we feel happier, challenged by a step, a little sweaty but yes, we are sure that we enjoy ourselves. Keep in mind that you don't need anything more than the desire to dance, no one is an expert and the most important thing is to enjoy the space.
